For example, the decomposition of the electrolyte inside the battery and the loss of activity of the active materials inside the battery can directly lead to a reduction in the range of ternary lithium batteries. Furthermore, the capacity decay of lithium batteries is not linear. For example, reducing capacity from 100% to 80% took 5 years, but reducing it from 80% to 70% may require an additional 3 years.
