During the charging process, some lithium ions in lithium iron phosphate are removed and transferred to the negative electrode through the electrolyte, which is embedded in the negative electrode carbon material; At the same time, electrons are released from the positive electrode and reach the negative electrode from the external circuit, maintaining the balance of chemical reactions. During the discharge process, lithium ions detach from the negative electrode and reach the positive electrode through the electrolyte. At the same time, the negative electrode releases electrons, which reach the positive electrode from the external circuit and provide energy to the outside world.
Lithium iron phosphate batteries have the advantages of high working voltage, high energy density, long cycle life, good safety performance, low self discharge rate, and no memory effect.
High energy density
According to reports, the energy density of the single cell of the square aluminum shell lithium iron phosphate battery produced in 2018 was around 160Wh/kg. In 2019, some excellent battery manufacturers could reach the level of 175-180Wh/kg, while some powerful manufacturers used lamination technology and increased capacity, or could achieve 185Wh/kg.

Even under special conditions such as short circuits, overcharging, squeezing, and puncturing, it is still very safe.
Long cycle life
The 1C cycle life of lithium iron phosphate batteries generally reaches 2000 times, or even more than 3500 times. For the energy storage market, it is required to reach 4000 to 5000 times, ensuring a service life of 8-10 years, which is higher than the cycle life of ternary batteries of 1000 times. However, the cycle life of long-life lead-acid batteries is around 300 times.
