  With the rise of the energy storage market, in recent years, some power battery companies have expanded their energy storage business to explore new application markets for lithium iron phosphate batteries. On the other hand, the energy storage system supporting lithium iron phosphate batteries has become the mainstream choice in the market. According to reports, lithium iron phosphate batteries have been attempted for use in electric buses, electric trucks, user side, and grid side frequency regulation.

  1. Safe grid connection of renewable energy generation such as wind power and photovoltaic power. The inherent randomness, intermittency, and volatility of wind power generation determine that its large-scale development will inevitably have a significant impact on the safe operation of the power system. With the rapid development of the wind power industry, especially in China where most wind farms are "large-scale centralized development and long-distance transmission", the grid connected power generation of large-scale wind farms poses a serious challenge to the operation and control of the large power grid.

  2. Peak shaving of the power grid. The main means of peak shaving in the power grid has always been pumped storage power plants. Due to the need to build two reservoirs, the upper and lower, for pumped storage power stations, which are greatly limited by geographical conditions, it is not easy to build them in plain areas, and they also occupy a large area with high maintenance costs. The use of lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system to replace pumped storage power plants, in response to peak loads in the power grid, is not limited by geographical conditions, has free location selection, less investment, less land occupation, and low maintenance costs. It will play an important role in the peak shaving process of the power grid.

  3. Distributed power plants. The inherent defects of large power grids make it difficult to ensure the quality, efficiency, safety and reliability requirements of power supply. For important units and enterprises, dual or even multiple power sources are often needed as backup and protection. The lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system can reduce or avoid power outages caused by power grid failures and various unexpected events, and plays an important role in ensuring safe and reliable power supply in hospitals, banks, command and control centers, data processing centers, chemical materials industries, and precision manufacturing industries.
