What are the two ways to improve the performance of 6F22 battery?

 

In theory, the capacity of 6F22 battery is 5 times that of current battery electrodes, and the voltage is about 2.123V. Although these characteristics of 6F22 battery are very outstanding, the recyclability of 6F22 battery is very low.

 

After 50 charging cycles, the capacity density of 6F22 battery drops rapidly, mainly due to the dissolution and volume expansion of Li2Sn (4≤n≤8) that acts as a medium, as well as the low conductivity of sulfides and polysulfides.

 

The first method is to stabilize sulfur: the researchers used amylopectin, a polysaccharide that is an important component of corn starch. A three-dimensional cross-linked structure was made with a compound coated with amylopectin (GO-S-Amy).

 

With this cross-linked structure, the sulfur particles in graphene oxide are effectively controlled, and the recyclability is also greatly improved compared with that without the compound (GO-S-Amy).

 

Another way to improve the durability of 6F22 battery is to heat the polyaniline sulfur (polyaniline?sulfur) of the sulfurized core-shell structure to obtain a nanocompound (S-Pani) with a hollow core-shell structure.

 

Researchers found that compared with the chemical leaching method, the heating method can obtain more uniform hollow core-shell structures. In addition, the cyclability of the hollow core-shell nanostructure is greatly improved, because the voids inside the polymer shell can accommodate the volume expansion of sulfur during the lithiation reaction.

 

The hollow core-shell structure material is still very stable after charging 200 times. From a chemical point of view, this polyaniline coating is a chain structure formed by benzene rings and ammonium groups strung together. It is soft and flexible, and can prevent the shell from cracking during long-term cycles.
