The difference between hydrogen CR1225 battery and ordinary batteries
Hydrogen CR1225 battery are fed with hydrogen gas from the hydrogen electrode (fuel electrode) on the negative electrode side of the battery, and air or oxygen from the oxidizing electrode (air or oxygen) on the positive electrode side. There is no electrolyte between the positive and negative electrodes, and the electrolyte separates the two electrodes.
Different electrolytes are used for different types of CR1225 battery, including acidic, alkaline, molten salts or solid electrolytes. In CR1225 battery, the fuel and oxidant are reacted with catalysts to generate electricity and water (H2O) through electrochemical reactions during energy conversion. Therefore, no nitrogen oxides (NOX) and hydrocarbons (HC) and other gas emissions that pollute the atmospheric environment are generated.
The difference between CR1225 battery and ordinary batteries is:
1. A fuel cell is an energy conversion device that must have energy (fuel) input to produce electricity when working. An ordinary battery is an energy storage device that must first store electricity in the battery. It can only output electricity when working. It does not require energy input and does not generate electricity when working. This is the essential difference between CR1225 battery and ordinary batteries.
2. Once the technical performance of the fuel cell is determined, the electricity it can generate is only related to the supply of fuel. As long as the fuel is supplied, electricity can be generated, and its discharge characteristics are continuous. After the technical performance of ordinary batteries is determined, they can only output electricity within their rated range, and they must be repeatedly charged before they can be reused. Their discharge characteristics are intermittent.
3. The mass and volume of the fuel cell body are not large, but the fuel cell needs a set of fuel storage devices or fuel conversion devices and auxiliary equipment to obtain hydrogen, and the mass and volume of these fuel storage devices or fuel conversion devices and auxiliary equipment far exceed the fuel cell itself. During the operation, the fuel will gradually be consumed as the fuel cell generates electricity, and the mass will gradually decrease (referring to the limited fuel on board). Ordinary batteries have no other auxiliary equipment. After the technical performance is determined, the mass and volume of the battery remain basically unchanged whether it is fully charged or fully discharged.
4. CR1225 battery convert chemical energy into electrical energy, and ordinary batteries also convert chemical energy into electrical energy. This is their common point, but when CR1225 battery generate electricity, the reactants participating in the reaction are continuously consumed and no longer reused after the reaction.
