Function 1: Thermal management

Function 2: Balance control

 

Balance management helps to maintain the capacity of Ni-MH battery packs and control the depth of discharge. If there is no balance control of Ni-MH battery packs, because of the protection function setting of battery management system, it will happen that when one battery is fully charged, other batteries are not fully charged or discharged when the minimum charge limit of a single battery is not reached. Function 3: State monitoring

 

The state analysis of power lithium-ion batteries mainly includes two aspects: the remaining battery power and the degree of battery aging, namely SOC evaluation and SOH evaluation. SOC allows the driver to obtain direct information about the impact of the remaining power on the range. At present, many studies have focused on SOC analysis to improve its accuracy. The analysis of SOC will be affected by SOH, and the SOH of power lithium-ion batteries will be continuously affected by factors such as temperature and current during use, so it is necessary to continuously analyze to ensure the accuracy of SOC analysis.

 

Function 4: Data collection

 

Data collection is the basis and premise of other functions of the battery management system. The accuracy and speed of data collection can reflect the advantages and disadvantages of the battery management system. Based on the collected data, other functions of the management system, such as SOC state analysis, balancing management, thermal management, etc., are analyzed and processed.

 

Function 5: Safety protection

 

Safety protection is the most important function in the entire battery management system, which is achieved on the basis of the first four functions.
