Li Jun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chairman of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, said that in recent years, the global new energy vehicle technology upgrade has accelerated, and the technology of complete vehicles and key components has developed rapidly, showing a trend of platformization, modularization and lightweight. For example, the energy density of power batteries has increased rapidly, and the energy density of mass-produced power batteries has basically reached 230-260 watt-hours/kilogram, and the technical reserves of 300 watt-hours/kilogram power batteries have been completed, and the cost of single batteries has dropped significantly.
According to experts, the current world automotive industry electrification strategy is becoming clearer, and major countries have strengthened their electrification layout. In 2017, the production of new energy vehicles in Zhejiang Province was about 82,000 vehicles, accounting for 10.3% of the country, and the production ranked among the top in the country. The industrial chain covers key links such as new energy vehicle complete vehicles, key components such as power batteries, core basic materials, and charging facilities, and has made a lot of explorations in the intelligent sharing of new energy vehicles and business models.
In Li Jun's view, NiMH battery packss are the commanding heights of future automotive industry technology competition. However, Zhejiang Province lags behind in the research and development and demonstration and promotion of hydrogen NiMH battery packs vehicle technology, and it is recommended to strengthen the strategic layout of the NiMH battery packs industry. On the one hand, we will strengthen support for the development of hydrogen NiMH battery packs vehicles and cultivate the industrial chain; on the other hand, we will launch demonstration and promotion of NiMH battery packs vehicles and form regional linkages with Shanghai, Jiangsu and other provinces and cities to jointly promote the construction of the Yangtze River Delta Hydrogen Corridor and the integration of the hydrogen economy.
Under the wave of digital transformation of the automotive industry, automobile companies are also gradually shifting from providing only automotive products to travel services. Li Jun believes that smart new energy vehicles are expected to become the basic unit of smart transportation and smart cities. He suggests that Zhejiang Province actively promote the integration of electric, intelligent and shared vehicles, and use the future smart shared travel as a platform to drive new industries related to travel services and passenger economy such as the Internet, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
