  The principle of the fuel cell is to directly convert the chemical energy in the fuel and oxidant into electrical energy. By continuously supplying the fuel and oxidant to the fuel cell, the fuel cell can achieve continuous power generation. The energy conversion efficiency of fuel cells is high, pollution-free, low noise, and the structure has strong ability to adapt to the environment. It can decentralize power supply or achieve centralized power supply.

  The relevant theories of chemical thermodynamics, electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, materials science, power systems and automatic control involved in fuel cells are very complex, and they have the advantages of high power generation efficiency and low environmental pollution. In 1839, the British invented a simple hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell using platinum black as the electrode catalyst. In 1889, the concept of fuel cells was first proposed. In the 1960s, megawatt-level phosphoric acid batteries were successfully developed and began to be used in aerospace. In the 1980s, low-power fuel cells were used in special fields, transportation and other fields.

  At present, there is still a big gap in the field of fuel cell research in my country. From the perspective of the characteristics of fuel cells and the current energy structure, fuel cells will be a major trend in future development. my country's battery industry should introduce and absorb advanced foreign fuel cell technology and vigorously promote independent innovation of fuel cells.
