Is it possible for the range of the lithium 32700 battery pack to exceed 600km? The currently developing pure electric vehicles are equipped with power lithium batteries, and then matched with electric motors to drive the vehicle. In the current pure electric vehicle market, the power lithium battery is mainly ternary lithium-ion battery, and some models use lithium iron phosphate batteries. At present, the more common power lithium batteries used in electric vehicles are lithium iron phosphate batteries and ternary lithium ion batteries. Lithium iron phosphate batteries do not contain precious metal elements, and their cost is much cheaper than ternary lithium ion batteries. Although the cruising range of Tesla Model S can reach 660km, the price is about 800,000. If the price of BYD Hanjiang is lower than half of Tesla's price, it will occupy the new energy market.
BYD blade battery is a technology that further improves the integration efficiency of battery packs by flattening the battery cell. According to BYD's official news, BYD Hanjiang, BYD's first pure electric vehicle equipped with blade batteries, can even achieve a cruising range of about 600 kilometers, so it is possible for lithium iron phosphate batteries to have a cruising range of 600 kilometers.
For power lithium battery packs, battery pack energy density is a key indicator. The greater the energy density of the power lithium battery pack, the better the mileage performance of the power lithium battery pack of the same volume or mass can provide; while the energy density of lithium iron phosphate batteries is worse than that of ternary lithium ion batteries. However, BYD Auto's blade battery pack technology can improve the energy density performance of lithium iron phosphate batteries to a certain extent, and blade batteries can improve the technology of battery pack integration efficiency.
Factors affecting the range of lithium phosphate batteries
1. Battery capacity: The larger the battery capacity, the longer the standby time. The battery of electric vehicles will use "kilowatt-hour" as the unit of measurement, commonly known as "degree". The higher the battery degree, the more power it can carry;
2. Vehicle weight: This will not only affect the range, but the battery efficiency will also greatly affect the handling, so the lightweight of pure electric vehicles is even more important than fuel vehicles;
3. Electrode working efficiency: The power lithium battery can directly output high-voltage direct current. If an asynchronous motor is to be used, a high-power inverter must be used to convert direct current into alternating current. This process will also result in some energy loss;
4. Battery material: BYD's current high-end main pure electric vehicle products use lithium iron phosphate batteries, and it is expected to buffer ternary lithium-ion batteries in subsequent products, which means that the energy density will be further improved, and the range will be more significantly improved on the basis of the existing one.
The current new energy vehicle market is also pursuing batteries with low cost and high energy density. If lithium iron phosphate batteries can meet this requirement, car companies will not mind switching from ternary batteries to lithium iron phosphate batteries. BYD's blade battery has given the market a revelation: the development of lithium iron phosphate batteries still has a future. If lithium iron phosphate batteries significantly improve energy density based on the original space, then they are worth choosing.
