This involves a question, will the battery life be significantly reduced if fast charging is used for a long time? Fast charging is more "healthy" if it is not full. Fast charging and slow charging are relative concepts. Generally, fast charging is high-power DC charging, and the battery can be fully charged from 30% to 80% in half an hour; slow charging refers to AC charging. The charging process It takes 6 hours - 8 hours. The battery charging characteristics are closely related to temperature. After exceeding 80%, in order to protect the safety of the battery, the charging current will be controlled and become smaller. The voltage of DC fast charging is generally greater than the battery voltage, and a rectifier is required to convert AC power into DC power, which places higher requirements on the voltage resistance and protection of the power battery pack. AC slow charging generally refers to household 220V, but the battery cannot accept AC charging, so the 220V AC power is first converted into DC power and then boosted to the battery charging voltage such as 500V DC, and then the 500V DC power is used to charge the battery. According to experts, after the electric vehicle is charged to 90%, the electronic control system will "control the flow" and reduce the current input, also for the sake of protecting battery life and safety. It's enough to charge the battery to 80%. In addition to factors such as time consumption, a fully charged battery will be in a full load state and will easily fatigue over a long period of time, which means that the service life of the battery will be compromised. As the father of hybrid technology, Toyota has studied battery technology for more than 20 years, so it has a unique insight into battery management: shallow charging and shallow discharge! The battery will be recharged only when it is discharged to 40%, and the battery life will be long when it is recharged only to 80%. Simply put, charging and discharging the battery between 40% and 80% is the most ideal power usage. Some experts say that fast charging does damage the life of the power battery to a certain extent. The solution is to try to use slow charging to reactivate the arrangement of electrons inside the battery pack after a certain number of fast charges. This process and principle are very complicated and will not be discussed here. Therefore, in order for the battery to perform better, it is necessary to charge it alternately from time to time. There are too many factors that affect charging speed. The first thing you need to know is that the suppliers of shared charging piles are not unified, such as Te Laidian, Wancheng Wanchong, Xingxing, Putian, as well as State Grid and China Southern Power Grid. Different suppliers and different charging stations have different charging voltages. Take the BYD Yuan EV360, a celebrity's car, as an example. At a special shared charging pile near home, the Yuan EV is charged from 22% to 77% after one hour of charging. In other words, only 55% of the battery is charged in one hour. It takes nearly 1 hour and 5 minutes to charge to 80% power. Later, the big man used Yuan EV to about 20% and charged it at Wancheng Wanchong charging station. It only took 30 minutes to charge the battery to 80%. On this issue, we consulted some charging pile companies and BYD, and both parties gave unanimous answers: the voltage of each charging pile is different, and there will indeed be a time difference when charging the same amount of electricity. A week later, Da Ga’s Yuan EV needed to be charged again. At this time, Da Ga chose Putian, another charging pile company. It also had 20% of the remaining power, and it also took 48 minutes to charge to 80%. Charging speed is also related to the technology of the car company. After a period of exploration, the big guys have now found fixed charging stations for charging, and have also met many "electric friends". The most frequented ones on this site are Geely Emgrand EV, BAIC New Energy EC, BYD e5 and GAC New Energy GE3, and of course my own BYD Yuan EV. After the exchange, there was a general consensus that when there is remaining power, BYD charges the fastest, followed by BAIC, then Geely, and GAC New Energy the slowest.
