  Due to the highly reactive chemical properties of lithium metal, the processing, preservation, and use of lithium metal have high environmental requirements. Therefore, the production of lithium phosphate batteries needs to be carried out under special environmental conditions. However, due to the many advantages of lithium phosphate batteries, they are widely used in electronic instruments, digital and household appliances. However, most lithium phosphate batteries are secondary batteries and there are also disposable batteries. The lifespan and safety of a few secondary batteries are relatively poor.

  Later, Sony Corporation of Japan invented a lithium phosphate battery with carbon material as the negative electrode and lithium containing compounds as the positive electrode. During the charging and discharging process, there is no metallic lithium present, only lithium ions, which is the lithium-ion battery. When charging the battery, lithium ions are generated on the positive electrode of the battery, and the generated lithium ions move through the electrolyte to the negative electrode. As the negative electrode, carbon has a layered structure with many micropores. Lithium ions that reach the negative electrode are embedded into the micropores of the carbon layer, and the more lithium ions embedded, the higher the charging capacity. Similarly, when the battery is discharged (i.e. during the process of using the battery), the lithium ions embedded in the negative carbon layer detach and move back to the positive electrode. The more lithium ions returned to the positive electrode, the higher the discharge capacity. The battery capacity we usually refer to is the discharge capacity. During the charging and discharging process of Li ion, the lithium ion is in a state of motion from positive electrode to negative electrode to positive electrode.   With the widespread use of digital products such as mobile phones and laptops, lithium-ion batteries have been widely used in these products with excellent performance, and have gradually developed into other product application fields in recent years. Traditionally, people refer to lithium-ion batteries as lithium phosphate batteries, but these two types of batteries are different. Lithium ion batteries have become the mainstream now.
