With this, the requirements for power supply are also getting higher and higher. There are many types of equipment in the production process of industrial factories, and their load characteristics vary, so it is necessary to choose an appropriate power supply configuration. Power supply solution for UPS power supply in computer room
1. Requirements for UPS front-stage power supply system
UPS can provide high-quality power to the load with high voltage stability, stable frequency, and small waveform distortion, and can achieve uninterrupted power supply when switching with static bypass. But to do this, the quality of its front-end power supply cannot be ignored. When we design the front-end power supply system of the communication room, we should consider the following aspects:
(1) The power quality of the front-end power supply system should not be too poor, and the voltage and frequency should be stable within the normal range.
(2) The front-stage power supply system should not have other frequently started loads, such as frequently used elevators, frequently turned on air conditioners, etc.
(3) The capacity of the alternating current generator set in the front-stage power supply system should be appropriately enlarged.
2. Determination of UPS capacity
According to the load capacity and nature, selecting the appropriate UPS can not only ensure the power supply quality of the UPS power supply, reduce the failure rate, but also save investment and improve economic benefits. Generally speaking, the determination of UPS capacity is mainly to meet the needs of the current load. At the same time, several factors must also be considered:
(1) The impact of load characteristics on UPS output power.
(2) The UPS capacity should not be too large compared to the load, causing it to operate with excessive light load.
(3) The UPS capacity should not be too small to keep it in heavy load operation for a long time.
(4) For situations where the communication computer room has a large area and the load continues to expand in stages, when configuring the UPS capacity in the early stage, the mid- and long-term development trends should be properly considered, and models that can be operated in parallel or with multiple machines should be selected during the selection. When the medium and long-term load capacity is increased, the output capacity of the UPS is expanded through parallel operation. Correspondingly, when configuring the UPS input and output power distribution panel, the input switches of multiple UPSs and medium- and long-term load shunt switches should be reserved to facilitate future expansion.
3. Electrical isolation and grounding of power supply system
Generally speaking, differential mode noise and common mode noise often exist in the power grid, and these noises interfere with the normal operation of computers to varying degrees. In addition, the offset of the zero line potential will also affect the operation of the computer, so measures should be taken to reduce these effects when considering the UPS power supply solution. For important loads such as large computer networks, the power supply system should try to use UPS power supplies with power frequency isolation transformers.
4. Correctly configure the UPS backup battery
In order to ensure that the UPS power supply can continue to supply power to the computer when the power grid is outage, the configuration of the backup battery is important.
The battery capacity selection should follow the following: that is, the battery must supply power to the inverter during the backup time, and under rated load, the battery pack voltage should not drop below the lower voltage allowed by the inverter. When arranging the equipment in the computer room, try to keep the battery pack as close as possible to the UPS host, shorten the length of the connection between the two, and increase the cross-sectional area of the connection to reduce the self-inductance of the connection and the voltage drop of the line. The battery pack can be installed in a battery cabinet or in an open battery rack. The former is more beautiful. It is tidy, but has higher load-bearing requirements for the floor. The latter can disperse the load-bearing and has good heat dissipation, but it occupies a large area and is easy to accumulate dust, which brings inconvenience to maintenance.
Industrial UPS power supply solutions
The production process of modern industry involves many types of equipment, and the load equipment itself and the production process require power supply. In modern factories, they can generally be divided into the following three types according to load categories:
1. Industrial equipment: such as semiconductor packaging equipment, SMT placement machines, etc.;
2. Production process management and control systems: such as DCS systems, monitoring and alarm systems, etc.;
3. Factory IT systems: such as ERP systems, PLM systems, etc.
According to different types of loads, different types of UPS power supplies can be configured to improve the system. The mains power supply and the generator set are the two main power supplies of the factory, and are switched through the ATS automatic transfer switch.
