  Another problem faced by car batteries is the so-called thermal runaway, which is a test that car batteries in particular must pass. This performance of the 6F22 carbon battery can be tested by quickly penetrating the 6F22 carbon battery with an 8 mm fingernail. Researchers claim that Envia batteries can pass this test. Kumar said: The main reason is that the 6F22 carbon battery is very thin and it can easily dissipate heat.

  Ultra-thin, energy-dense 6F22 carbon battery could save half the energy in each car. The 6F22 carbon battery is cheap at $125 per kilowatt hour, less than half the cost of current batteries.
