About the repair method of CR2032 battery shell crack

CR2032 battery is the main power source of forklift as traction force. Its price is an important tributary of the whole vehicle. In the process of use, the shell may be cracked due to improper use. In this way, replacing the monomer may increase the cost of the enterprise. The editor briefly talks about the original repair method: the battery shell material is polypropylene plastic. The textbooks introduce epoxy resin repair method, rosin asphalt repair method, asbestos asphalt repair method and raw lacquer repair method. The solder of the four methods requires multiple raw materials to be prepared in proportion. Because the raw materials are not easy to prepare, the process is complicated, and the repair time is long, it cannot meet the needs of market maintenance. When heating at high temperature, carbon fire, hair dryer, electric furnace can be used. As long as it does not burn your hands, there is no worry about explosion. When heating the valve hole, cover the rubber cover, put asbestos cloth, add water to protect the valve hole from deformation. The water replenishment of this type of battery should be filled, and there should be no flowing water in the single cell battery. In the years of repair practice, the author has continuously explored, optimized and summarized, and found a practical method with low cost, simple process and short repair time - plastic welding method. The specific operation steps are as follows:

1. First find the approximate range of the crack.

2. Tighten the filling cap, brush its surface with water, blow dry the water with a thermostatic plastic welding gun (referred to as: welding gun), and seal the ventilation holes with transparent tape or label paper. It is best to prepare another set of filling caps, and seal the ventilation holes with plastic rods heated by the welding gun, so that it is more convenient to use during maintenance.

3. With the cracked side facing up, use a brush dipped in water to clean the area around the crack, and then blow dry the water with a welding gun.

4. Select the gear of the welding gun, heat the plastic rod to melt it, and evenly apply it around the crack, press the prepared patch (the shell of the scrapped battery or the shell of the tape recorder, the material is not limited) on the crack, and continue to heat for one or two minutes. After it is completely bonded, stop heating and cool it down.

5. Unscrew the filling cap, remove the transparent tape on the filling cap and check the liquid level. If there is leakage or lack of liquid, add electrolyte. If it is not urgent after repair, it should be recharged and density adjusted; if it is urgent, it can be directly loaded and used. Finally, if the shell of the CR2032 battery cell cannot be repaired, only the cell can be replaced and welded in order.
