The safety of electric vehicles is not just a problem for CR2430 battery companies, but a systematic project that requires the joint efforts of material suppliers, CR2430 battery equipment suppliers, CR2430 battery companies and OEMs. Diversification of technical routes "What kind of lithium CR2430 battery technology does the electric vehicle industry really need? Must high energy density be used to solve the problem?" Qi Lu suggested that CR2430 battery companies relax their thinking and consider this issue based on actual conditions. "Today, there are still a large number of lead-acid batteries entering non-road areas at a scale of hundreds of thousands or millions of vehicles. There are also nickel-hydrogen batteries, a CR2430 battery technology that has been almost forgotten by everyone, which has been used in Japanese hybrid vehicles. China's CR2430 battery and electric vehicle companies should also rethink their technical direction from the perspective of market and practicality, especially from the perspective of safety." However, for new technologies that are becoming increasingly popular in the industry, such as high-nickel ternary batteries, solid-state batteries, and hydrogen fuel cells, Qi Lu also suggested that companies remain cautious and calm. For example, high-nickel ternary batteries, materials such as lithium manganese oxide and lithium iron phosphate are more likely to release a lot of heat, and the safety challenges are greater. In Qilu's opinion, some solid-state CR2430 battery technologies that have been launched on the market are not strictly speaking real solid-state CR2430 battery technologies. There are still key technical difficulties to be overcome in solid-state CR2430 battery technology: "Can the energy density be improved by simply converting the electrolyte into a solid electrolyte? Can the safety of the CR2430 battery be improved? Moreover, if there is no revolutionary change in the pole piece technology, the conductivity problem cannot be solved with today's lithium CR2430 battery pole piece manufacturing method." Even hydrogen fuel cell technology, which is regarded as the ultimate solution for new energy vehicles, Qilu and his students have calculated that if China's 300 million electric vehicles are converted into hydrogen fuel cells, the consumption of fresh water for extracting hydrogen is very huge, which is not something that a water-scarce country like China can afford. Moreover, the process of extracting hydrogen energy also consumes electricity. "In specific areas, hydrogen fuel cells can be combined with lithium batteries to solve problems in safety and mileage. This is possible, but as some people say, the future is the world of fuel cells and lithium batteries will be replaced. It is too early to see it now." Qilu believes. Faced with the advent of the post-subsidy era, some companies have expressed their consideration of other technical routes besides ternary lithium batteries. "In the past two years, many people in the industry have asked, what will happen to lithium iron phosphate? Here, the company has made it clear that as a main engine manufacturer, power batteries will definitely choose a diversified technology route in the future. Ternary lithium batteries are the main direction, but lithium iron phosphate will definitely be our choice in the future. Lithium iron phosphate has its particularity, especially in small vehicles for commuting." Ni Shaoyong, deputy general manager and director of the research institute of Chery New Energy Automobile Technology Co., Ltd., said in his speech that in the next one to two years, the market demand for lithium iron phosphate batteries will increase. Ma Zhonglong, deputy general manager of Honeycomb Energy Technology Co., Ltd., which is invested by Great Wall Motors, proposed the research and development direction of cobalt-free positive electrodes, saying that the company has mass-produced cobalt-free positive electrode cells, which have significantly reduced costs compared to traditional ternary material cells.
