  Professor Kung said the key to this technology lies in the way the graphite layer inside the battery is combined with lithium ions.

  The speed at which lithium ions move between graphite layers determines the charging speed of the battery. Professor Kung drilled millions of small holes with a diameter of 10-20 nanometers in the graphite layer so that lithium ions can quickly pass through the graphite layer. Lithium batteries using this technology only need 15 minutes to charge from 0 to full.

  At the same time, Professor Kung and his team added silicon crystals between graphite layers to increase the density of lithium ions. This allows more lithium ions to exist between the electrodes, thereby increasing the battery's capacity. However, this solution also has a shortcoming, that is, the capacity of this lithium battery will drop sharply after being repeatedly charged 150 times. However, Professor Kung said that its large capacity and fast charging characteristics can completely make up for this shortcoming.
