If the amount of gel agent added is too small, although the discharge voltage of the battery is relatively high in the early and middle stages of discharge, the voltage begins to drop suddenly in the middle and late stages, resulting in a short discharge time. If too much gelling agent is added, the constant current discharge voltage of the battery is low. This is caused by poor diffusion of reactants or products or uneven contact between zinc powder particles. When the gelling agent content is 80 mg, the alkaline battery Discharge performance reaches its best.
Therefore, during the manufacturing process, battery manufacturers must choose the appropriate amount of gelling agent to ensure the discharge capacity of the battery while maintaining a higher discharge voltage and better high-current discharge performance of alkaline batteries.
