Heat pump technology is a technology that flows heat from a low-level heat source to a high-level heat source under the drag of high potential energy. Using a ground source heat pump system, since the temperature of the soil is closer to the indoor temperature than the outdoor air temperature, if properly designed, the ground source heat pump can have higher efficiency and better reliability than the air source heat pump.
In addition, because the heat capacity of water with the same volume flow is 3500 times that of air, the heat exchange effect between water and refrigerant is much better than the convection heat exchange between air and refrigerant. Therefore, the heat exchange coil of a ground source heat pump is better than that of an air source heat pump. Being much smaller and having fewer components, a geothermal heat pump system can have lower operating costs.
