  Active silicic acid aqueous solution is produced by ion exchange of Sodium metasilicate or Potassium silicate aqueous solution through cation exchange resin bed. The particle size of silica in this aqueous solution is below 5 nanometers, with a silica content of 1-7 parts by weight, and a SiO2/M2O (M represents potassium or sodium) molar ratio of 300-2000. If needed, better raw materials can be provided for the preparation of lithium silicate aqueous solution if it comes into contact with the anion exchanger again.

  This active silicic acid aqueous solution, when placed at room temperature, gradually increases the particle size of silica, making the solution more viscous and even gelatinizing. Therefore, when preparing lithium silicate aqueous solution, it is necessary to react with Lithium hydroxide immediately after the formation of active silicic acid and before tackifying and gelling, preferably when the particle size of silicon dioxide is between 1 and 2 nanometers. If the particle size of silica reaches more than 5 nm, the reaction with Lithium hydroxide will cause gelation, which not only requires a long time of degumming, but also cannot be made into transparent lithium silicate aqueous solution.

  It must also be pointed out that if the concentration of SiO2 is less than 1% (weight), it will react with Lithium hydroxide. Obviously, the concentration of SiO2 in the lithium silicate aqueous solution is not enough, and a large amount of water will have to be removed during concentration; If it exceeds 7%, even if the prepared active silicon dioxide aqueous solution reacts with Lithium hydroxide immediately, it will also significantly increase viscosity or gelation at the moment before reaction, so that transparent lithium silicate aqueous solution cannot be produced in a short time. Therefore, the concentration of silica is preferably between 2 and 5% by weight.
