The purpose of paralleling 14250 battery is to increase capacity. Therefore, parallel charging of 14250 battery also has different design characteristics compared with single-cell 14250 battery, which is mainly reflected in the consistency of charging current design and parallel batteries.
When 14250 battery are charged in parallel, each lithium-ion battery should be charged evenly, otherwise the performance and life of the entire group of 14250 battery will be affected during use. Commonly used equalizing charging techniques include: constant shunt resistor equalizing charging, on-off shunt resistor equalizing charging, uniform battery voltage equalizing charging, switch capacitor equalizing charging, buck converter equalizing charging, inductor equalizing charging, etc.
There are several issues to pay attention to when charging 14250 battery in parallel:
1. 14250 battery with and without protection boards cannot be charged in parallel. Batteries without protection boards are prone to overcharging and damage.
2. Batteries charged in parallel usually have to remove the protection board that comes with the battery and use a unified battery protection board.
3. If there is no lithium-ion battery protection board for the battery charged in parallel, the charging voltage must be limited to 4.2V, and a 5V charger cannot be used.
After the lithium-ion battery is connected in parallel, there will be a charging protection chip to protect the lithium-ion battery. When making parallel 14250 battery, lithium-ion battery manufacturers have fully considered the changing characteristics of 14250 battery after parallel connection, and also carry out current design and battery cell selection according to the above requirements. Therefore, users should charge step by step according to the instructions of parallel 14250 battery, and beware of the possible damage to the battery caused by incorrect charging.
