　　High power and long life Skoda develops fast charging station

　　According to foreign media reports, ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab is testing a fast charging station project in Prague. It uses flywheel energy storage technology made by Israeli startup Chakratec to double the original charging power provided by the grid.

　　Chakratec was founded in 2013 and is committed to creating a new energy storage solution to reduce energy loss rates. Its core technology is a power battery that can be charged and discharged at high frequencies. The battery can realize high-power energy supply, has a service life of more than 20 years, can complete about 200,000 charges and discharges, and has a discharge depth of close to 100% during the entire life cycle. The charging process developed by Chakratec requires a very large current flow and the charging time only takes 5-10 minutes.

　　Chakratec co-founder Ilan Ben David used toilet flushing to explain the meaning of Chakratec's flywheel energy storage principle. He compared the charging process to a strong water flow required during toilet flushing. When the lever is pressed, the water tank will Empty quickly before refilling. When a vehicle enters a fast charging station, the power system acts like a water tank and quickly transfers a large amount of energy to the car.

　　From a technical point of view, fast charging stations absorb peak loads in the power grid, run the flywheel at high speed, and convert electrical energy into kinetic energy for storage. When the car is connected to the power supply, the kinetic energy booster will release this electrical energy. The fast charging station can double the original charging power provided by the grid.

　　Currently, this fast charging station is operated by PRE Group and charges electric vehicles for free. The specific price and payment method will be announced in the future. Based on the final test results, PRE Group will further deploy Chakratec fast charging stations in countries and regions such as the Czech Republic.
