Regarding standards, different organizations and documents give different meanings, but their importance is unanimously recognized. Liu Fei, chief representative of the ASTM International Office in my country, believes that standards are the common language of business, and no transactions can be made without standards.

 

In recent years, my country has initially built a support system for the industrial development, industry management, recycling, and standards and specifications of power lithium batteries. But objectively speaking, this system needs to be improved, and many issues need further study. Wang Zidong, director of the Power Lithium Battery Laboratory of the Northern Vehicle Research Institute of my country, said that in order to extend the life of power lithium batteries and achieve cascade utilization, standardized production must be implemented. Wang Zidong has repeatedly emphasized the significance of standardization in the power lithium battery industry and believes that domestic companies do not pay enough attention to it.

He believes that safety management is a basic management measure for all lithium-ion energy storage systems, and all lithium-ion batteries should be equipped with independent electronic protection measures and electroplating protection measures that can resist vibration.

 

Standard system for the export of power lithium batteries

 

At present, the more common standard systems in the world include ISO (International Organization for Standardization), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission), ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), UL (Underwriters Laboratories), etc.

In my country's power lithium battery system, standards such as power cells, power lithium battery modules, and safety protection requirements are mostly formulated by companies or company alliances with strong technical strength, and are generally guided by the smooth implementation of power lithium battery product technology. From the perspective of the global market, the advanced foreign standard systems, including those in Japan and South Korea, are universal standards rather than a specific roadmap. This also gives us inspiration that basic requirements such as battery safety must be coordinated and consistent, which is the basic demand for writing standards.

 

Compared with foreign countries, my country's power lithium battery standard system still needs to be improved. Liu Fei believes that my country's power lithium battery standards are mostly product-oriented, limited to the domestic market, and lack a global perspective. He said that although Japan and South Korea's power lithium battery technology is more advanced than ours, their markets can still be included in our standard system.

 

In addition, a good standard should also emphasize product quality, target relevance and effectiveness of use. It should first be guided by the user's standards and then consider the market orientation. More importantly, the personnel composition of the standard-setting committee should be as diverse as possible, and relevant personnel from the government, companies, experts and even competitor companies should be included to jointly formulate power lithium battery standards, because the core competitiveness of a good standard lies in the people who formulate the standards, the team behind them and the operating mechanism.

 

GB standards for power lithium batteries will be enforced

 

my country's existing power lithium battery standard system is mainly divided into several aspects, such as electrical performance, life, safety, interchangeability, recycling and key accessories. In order to improve the product standard system, more standards are being submitted for approval or formulated.

The power lithium battery standard system will inevitably include the global market in its vision, and the formulation of standards has become particularly important. Wang Fang, chief expert of the my country Automotive Technology Research Center, told the Battery my country Network that he hopes that the company can start from the source of the material, comprehensively consider the analysis of the material safety mechanism, the research on battery safety behavior, the management and control of battery modules and system safety, and form a closed-loop safety design concept, and do a good job of the entire system from the perspective of test analysis.

Second, you must pay attention to the mechanism and method of heat generation in the battery itself, and use the system integration concept to make the battery cell safer.

 

As my country's new energy vehicles enter the development stage from the introduction stage, the power lithium battery industry has also ushered in a faster rise. However, with the development of overseas markets by Chinese companies and the arrival of the retirement tide of power lithium batteries, the further development of power lithium batteries will be constrained by the increasingly prominent standard issues. In order for power lithium batteries to achieve a safe rise, it is necessary to first solve the standard issue and build a complete, effective and more reasonable power lithium battery standard system to allow products to flow freely in the network constructed by standards.
