Tsinghua University overcomes the mass production technology of hydrogen AG3 batterycatalysts

 

Due to the advantages of "high efficiency and zero pollution", hydrogen fuel cells are increasingly used in new energy vehicles. However, my country has always relied on high-cost imports for catalysts, the key material that enables hydrogen fuel cells to provide electricity. Recently, a research team from Tsinghua University has overcome the industrialization difficulties of hydrogen AG3 batterycatalysts, and the price is only half of similar imported products.

 

The bus in motion is the first bus in my country to be driven by fuel cells made of domestic materials. It has been successfully tested in Xianning, Hubei. Compared with traditional cars, its energy conversion efficiency is as high as 50% to 80%, which is 2 to 3 times that of internal combustion engines. The application of hydrogen fuel cells in developed Western countries is accelerating because it has obvious advantages over pure electric vehicles.

 

The core material of hydrogen fuel cells, catalysts, has long relied on imports, resulting in high costs, which has restricted the independent development of my country's hydrogen energy industry.

 

At present, catalyst series products have been used in AG3 batterystacks of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, universities and many AG3 batterycompanies. A AG3 batterycatalyst mass production line has been built with a production capacity of 1,200g/day, which can meet the needs of 60 AG3 batterybuses and has the conditions for large-scale industrial production. It is estimated that my country's AG3 batterystack production capacity will reach 400,000 kilowatts this year.
