Samsung is developing new fast charging technology, 15W charging technology may become history
Samsung is currently working on new fast charging technology. This will be the first time Samsung has improved the charging speed of mobile phones since the release of 15w fast charging technology. According to a tweet from well-known leaker IceUniverse, Samsung may include faster charging technology in its upcoming smartphones. It is speculated that this will debut in the company's upcoming flagship, which is expected to be named Galaxy S10deg. The message doesn't offer any details, other than suggesting that the current 15W charging technology used by Samsung will "become a thing of the past." A second tweet confirmed that the new fast-charging technology does exist, but offered no further information.
Samsung introduced 15W fast charging technology a few years ago, and its charging speeds are impressive. However, subsequent solutions from competitors have made Samsung's advantage in fast charging less obvious.
Samsung has long faced competitive pressure from companies such as Huawei and OnePlus. Huawei currently bundles a powerful 40W SuperCharger with the Mate20pro, which allows users to charge the phone's 4200mAh battery to 70% in just 30 minutes. On the other hand, Oneplus recently announced WarpCharge30, which can charge 50% in 20 minutes. Nowadays, even ordinary thousand-yuan phones have 18w fast charging solutions, and 15w has no advantage at all, so it is really necessary for Samsung to research new fast charging technology.
