The lithium iron phosphate battery cell will only burn at most when it fails, and will not explode.

Under the same circumstances, inferior batteries are more likely to explode or burn. Counterfeit and defective are also important factors that cause many lithium-ion battery explosions. Therefore, when purchasing 12V lithium-ion batteries, you must choose a reliable manufacturer.

Acupuncture: The damage caused by acupuncture to the battery cell is irreparable. The damaged part will cause a local short circuit and generate a lot of heat, which will increase the internal temperature of the battery to the temperature of thermal decomposition of the positive electrode. However, at most, the battery cell will burn, but it will not explode;

Impact: When the lithium-ion battery is impacted, the overvoltage loss on the electrode will generate heat, which will promote the reaction between the solvent and the negative electrode. The heat released will further heat the battery, promote the thermal decomposition reaction of the positive electrode, and cause the heat to run away.

Short circuit: A lot of heat will appear when the current passes through the battery, heating the battery, raising the battery temperature to the temperature of the positive electrode decomposition. The thermal decomposition of the positive electrode will cause the battery to run away, causing combustion or explosion.

Ambient temperature: When the ambient temperature is too high, the inside of the battery is like a reaction chain. The positive electrode material will also undergo thermal decomposition in such an environment. In such a sealed situation, the battery cell will bulge and burst when the pressure reaches the limit.
