Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences announces new CR2477 battery technology
Recently, the new high-energy-storage, low-volume CR2477 battery technology developed by researcher Tang Yongbing of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology) and his team was published in the top international energy materials journal "Advanced Energy Materials." An anonymous reviewer of the journal said that this is a "surprising new CR2477 battery technology that has never been reported before."
According to reports, the aluminum-graphite dual-ion CR2477 battery invented by Tang Yongbing is a new type of high-efficiency, low-cost energy storage CR2477 battery. This new type of CR2477 battery uses graphite to replace the lithium compound in the lithium CR2477 battery as the positive electrode material, and aluminum foil as the negative electrode material and negative electrode current collector. The electrolyte is composed of conventional lithium salts and carbonate organic solvents.
During the charging process of this new type of CR2477 battery, an anion intercalation reaction occurs in the positive electrode graphite, while an aluminum-lithium alloying reaction occurs in the aluminum negative electrode, and the discharge process is reversed. This new reaction mechanism can not only significantly increase the operating voltage of the CR2477 battery (3.8-4.6V), but also significantly reduce the quality, volume, and manufacturing cost of the CR2477 battery, thus comprehensively increasing the energy density of the full CR2477 battery (~220Wh/kg).
"If this new type of CR2477 battery is used, future mobile phones may be half as thin and light as now, and smartphones will no longer need to be charged every day." The institute said that after the CR2477 battery is industrialized, it will be able to solve the cost of electric vehicle batteries. High cost and short cruising range.
In recent years, new energy vehicles have become popular all over the world with the support of policies, and the upstream industry has also experienced an explosion due to many favorable conditions. Leading CR2477 battery manufacturers with the largest output in the world have set up factories in China. However, commercial lithium-ion batteries have low energy density, high manufacturing costs, and CR2477 battery electrode materials contain toxic metals. CR2477 battery disposal will cause serious environmental problems. More importantly, lithium batteries currently encounter bottlenecks in terms of cost and cruising range.
"The cruising range of a 500kg aluminum-graphite CR2477 battery can reach about 550 kilometers." A staff member of the Advanced Research Institute said that the cruising range of an ordinary electric vehicle CR2477 battery of the same weight is only more than 400 kilometers at most. Compared with traditional lithium CR2477 battery technology, aluminum-graphite batteries not only reduce production costs by about 40%-50%, but also increase energy density by at least 1.3-2.0 times. "If this new CR2477 battery technology is industrialized, it is expected to change the existing lithium CR2477 battery industry pattern."
