Introduction to the manufacturing process and use of LR44 battery

Manufacturing process

The positive electrode materials of lithium-ion batteries include lithium cobalt oxide LiCoO2, ternary materials Ni+Mn+Co, lithium manganese oxide Li2MnO4 plus conductive agent and adhesive, which are coated on aluminum foil to form the positive electrode. The negative electrode is layered graphite plus conductive agent and adhesive coated on the copper foil base tape. So far, the more advanced negative electrode layered graphite particles have adopted nanocarbon.

1. Pulping: Use special solvents and binders to mix with powdered positive and negative active materials respectively, and after stirring evenly, make slurry positive and negative electrode materials.

2. Coating: Use an automatic coating machine to evenly coat the positive and negative electrode slurries on the surface of the metal foil respectively, and automatically cut them into positive and negative electrode sheets after automatic drying.

3. Assembly: According to the order of positive electrode sheet-diaphragm-negative electrode sheet-diaphragm from top to bottom, winding, injecting electrolyte, sealing, positive and negative electrode ears welding and other processes, the battery assembly process is completed to make a finished battery.

4. Formation: Place the finished battery in the test cabinet for charge and discharge test, and select qualified finished batteries for shipment.

How to use

1. How to charge a new battery,

When using lithium-ion batteries, it should be noted that the battery will enter a dormant state after being placed for a period of time. At this time, the capacity is lower than the normal value, and the use time is also shortened. However, lithium-ion batteries are easy to activate. As long as 3-5 normal charge and discharge cycles are performed, the battery can be activated and the normal capacity can be restored. Due to the characteristics of lithium-ion batteries themselves, it has almost no memory effect. Therefore, the new lithium-ion battery in the user's mobile phone does not require special methods and equipment during the activation process.

Regarding the "activation" of lithium-ion batteries, many people say that the charging time should be more than 12 hours, and it should be repeated three times in order to activate the battery. This "the first three charges should be charged for more than 12 hours" is obviously a statement that has been passed down from nickel batteries (such as nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride). So this statement can be said to be a misunderstanding from the beginning. There are huge differences in the charging and discharging characteristics of lithium-ion batteries and nickel batteries, and I can tell you very clearly that all the serious formal technical data I have read emphasize that overcharging and over-discharging will cause great harm to lithium-ion batteries, especially liquid lithium-ion batteries. Therefore, charging should be carried out according to standard time and standard methods, especially not for long charging of more than 12 hours (just as long as the charger shows full).

In addition, lithium-ion batteries or chargers will automatically stop charging after the battery is fully charged, and there is no so-called "trickle" charging that lasts for more than 10 hours as nickel chargers do. In other words, if your lithium-ion battery is fully charged, it is useless to put it on the charger. And none of us can guarantee that the characteristics of the battery's charge and discharge protection circuit will not change and the quality is foolproof, so your battery will be on the edge of danger for a long time. This is another reason why we oppose long charging. In addition, another aspect that cannot be ignored is that lithium-ion batteries are also not suitable for over-discharging, which is also very unfavorable to lithium-ion batteries.

2. When should charging start during normal use?

It is often said that because the number of times of charging and discharging is limited, the battery of the mobile phone should be used up as much as possible before charging. In fact, the life of lithium-ion batteries has nothing to do with this. Here is an example of an experimental table for the charging and discharging cycle of lithium-ion batteries. The data on the cycle life are listed as follows:

Do not overcharge the lithium-ion battery of the mobile phone, nor use it until it is completely discharged. Charging before the battery is fully discharged will not cause damage to the battery. It is advisable to charge within 2-3 hours, and it is not necessary to fully charge it. However, the lithium-ion battery should be fully charged (normal charging time) and fully discharged 1-2 times every 3-4 months.

Lithium-ion batteries that are not used for a long time should be stored in a cool and dry place in a half-charged state (70-80% of the full charge. If your mobile phone displays 4 bars when fully charged, then 3 bars are enough). Storing it with full charge is dangerous and the battery will be damaged. Storing it without power will damage the battery. Check whether it needs to be recharged every 3-6 months.

Lithium-ion batteries can be divided into liquid lithium-ion batteries and polymer lithium-ion batteries according to the electrolyte. The electrolyte of polymer lithium-ion batteries is colloid and will not flow, so there is no leakage problem and it is relatively safe.
