What is the difference between the R&D design of CR2016 battery and ordinary lithium batteries?
1. When developing and designing lithium iron phosphate power lithium-ion batteries, more consideration should be given to reliability and consistency. After all, they need to be used for a long time (at least 5 to 10 years), in harsh environments (low temperature in winter, exposure to the sun in summer, rain and snow), and in large numbers of batteries in series and parallel. Considering reliability and consistency, assuming that a car uses 1,000 CR2016 battery, ideally, car manufacturers hope that there will be no problems with a model of 100,000 vehicles, that is, ideally, the probability of CR2016 battery having problems (safety, storage, circulation, etc.) should be less than one in 100 million (of course, for the highest-end consumer batteries, Apple also requires suppliers to reach this level). Considering reliability, power batteries are generally designed with more redundancy, using thicker diaphragms, foils and shells, so the energy density is about half of that of consumer batteries.
2. When developing and designing ordinary consumer lithium-ion batteries, safety and durability should be considered more. Long-term reliability is not required (the cycle does not need to be too good, because it will be replaced in one or two years anyway). Generally, they should not be used alone in groups, so there is no great requirement for consistency. However, since consumer mobile phones and pad tablets have limited space and are very precious, consumer lithium-ion batteries have strict requirements on size, capacity, energy density, etc.
3. The difference between lithium CR2016 battery and lithium-ion batteries In terms of product safety, CR2016 battery have more external protection circuits, heat dissipation layouts, etc., and of course they also face more severe conditions (higher external voltage, larger current, more complex external environment). Consumer batteries have less protection and rely on battery materials and designs on the basis of higher energy density to withstand various safety-threatening situations; high-end consumer mobile phone lithium-ion batteries use the most advanced technology and materials, while CR2016 battery require more advanced process control, consistency control and quality management.
