The mass specific energy of energy-type batteries can reach 120Wh/kg, and when used in parallel with supercapacitors, it can form a power source with comprehensive performance. The mass specific energy of power-type batteries is also 70-80Wh/kg, which can be used alone without parallel supercapacitors.
Lithium-ion batteries with lithium titanate as the negative electrode have very little volume change during charge-discharge, which ensures the stability of the motor mechanism and the long life of the battery; the lithium titanate electrode potential is relatively high (1.5V relative to the Li+/Li electrode), and lithium dendrites can be generated when the battery is charged, ensuring the high safety of the battery.
However, due to the high electrode potential of lithium titanate, even if it is paired with the lithium manganate positive electrode with a higher electrode potential, the battery voltage is only about 2.2V, so the specific energy of the battery is only about 50-60Wh/kg. Even so, the outstanding advantages of this battery in terms of high safety and long life are unmatched by other batteries.
