How to activate and connect the lithium iron battery protection board. Due
to the activity of lithium ions, when using lithium iron batteries, a protective
plate must be used to prevent overcharge, overdischarge, and overcurrent of the
lithium battery. The connection method of the lithium battery protection board
is different for each company, because there are positive lithium battery
protection boards and negative lithium battery protection boards. For lithium
battery protection boards, there are software boards and hardware boards that
people often say are actually the same.
How to activate the lithium iron battery protection board
Now not all lithium iron battery protection boards need to be activated,
but some protection ICs need to be activated, and this is an old IC solution.
The old IC solution needs to be done so that the protection board does not work
to reduce the risk of Electrostatic discharge energy allows lithium batteries to
be stored longer. This is why the design requires charge activation.
If the protection board is protected by current limiting, it may need to be
activated by charging or completely disconnecting the load, which is relatively
troublesome. However, you can also short-circuit B- (battery negative) and P-
(discharge negative). The protection will be released. Remember not to carry a
large load when the short circuit is touched (such as turning the bar and
twisting it all the time), otherwise there may be big sparks. The fundamental
reason for this is that a large voltage difference is formed between the two
ends of the discharge MOS after protection. , a short-circuit touch will
directly reset the D-S level of the discharge MOS to 0V, and the protection will
be released at this moment.
The role of lithium battery protection board
The lithium battery protection board is to protect the charge and discharge
of the series-connected lithium battery pack; when fully charged, it can ensure
that the voltage difference between each single cell is less than the set value
(generally ±20mV), achieving even charging of each single cell in the battery
pack. , effectively improving the charging effect in series charging mode;
At the same time, the overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short
circuit, and overtemperature status of each single cell in the lithium iron
battery pack are detected to protect and extend the service life of the battery;
undervoltage protection prevents each single cell from being discharged and used
due to battery failure. Damaged due to over-discharge.
The finished lithium battery mainly consists of two parts, the lithium
battery core and the protective plate. The lithium battery core is mainly
composed of positive plate, separator, negative plate, and electrolyte; the
positive plate, separator, and negative plate are wound or laminated, packaged,
and filled with electrolyte , it is made into a battery core after
packaging.
When the battery is being charged, if the charging circuit loses control,
constant current charging will continue after the voltage exceeds a certain
value, and the battery voltage will continue to rise, which may cause battery
damage or safety issues. When there is a protective plate in the lithium iron
battery, the overcharge protection function of the protective plate will be
activated and the MOS tube will be cut off to prohibit charging of the battery
pack to protect the safety of the battery.
Wiring method of iron lithium battery protection board
Decomposition of the connection method of the lithium battery protection
board: To first know the connection method of the lithium iron battery
protection board in more detail, then you need to know some basic working
principles of the components and protection board on the lithium battery
protection board, which will help you understand The working principle of the
lithium battery circuit board can better use the iron lithium battery circuit
board to connect the battery pack.
① Before connecting the cable, make sure that the cable is not inserted
into the protective plate;
②Weld the B-line (thick blue line) of the protective plate to the total
negative electrode of the lithium iron battery;
③The wiring starts from the thin black wire connecting B-, the second wire
is connected to the positive terminal of the first string of batteries, and then
the positive terminal of each string of batteries is connected in turn, until
the last string B+;
④After the cable is connected, do not insert the plug directly into the
protective plate. Measure the voltage between each two adjacent metal terminals
on the back of the plug. If it is a ternary polymer battery, the voltage should
be between 2.8 and 4.2V, and for lithium iron battery, it should be between 2.5
and 2.5V. ~3.65V, lithium titanate battery should be between 1.6~2.8V;
⑤ After confirming that the wiring sequence and voltage of the cables are
correct, insert them into the protection board socket.
Generally speaking: P+ and P- are connected to the output. B+ is connected
to the positive electrode of the battery, and B- is connected to the negative
electrode. If multiple cells are connected in series, the negative electrode of
B1 and the positive electrode of B2 are connected together, and so on, the
negative electrode of the last battery is connected to Bn-. Solder the wires
first, and finally connect the lithium-iron battery. Do not connect them
incorrectly. If there is no output after completion, remember to use the charger
to activate the charging interface led by P+ and P-.
