  It is understood that the fast charging technology of CATL batteries adopts a constant potential closed-loop control algorithm. The core of the algorithm is based on the development of the internal polarization state of the battery. The principle is based on the electrochemical model. By controlling the anode potential to be constantly higher than the lithium evolution potential threshold, the input charging current is maximized. The input of current will affect the anode potential, thus forming a closed-loop control to minimize the battery charging time.

  It is worth noting that at the 2018 Ningde Electric Vehicle High-Power Charging Pilot Symposium, CATL demonstrated the charging process of the EnerSpeedy super iron lithium battery using the "super iron lithium + high energy density fast charging graphite" system. This product is a 60Ah super iron lithium battery that can be charged at 5C. The demonstration process took 7 minutes and 12 seconds to complete charging from 20% to 80%, and charging from 20% to 100% only took 13 minutes and 8 seconds.

  3. Super long life battery

  In addition to low energy density and long charging time, the rapid decline of 18650 battery 4800mah capacity has also become an important reason that hinders the further growth of the electric vehicle market and increases the cost of use for consumers.

  In this regard, in order to avoid the increased cost and inconvenience caused by battery replacement, CATL has developed battery products that match the service life of the vehicle based on different usage scenarios of users.

  For daily use of private cars, the ultra-long-life battery developed by CATL can meet the driving needs of more than 8 years; for operating vehicles, it provides long-life battery products that can operate for 6 years and 600,000 kilometers, truly achieving worry-free product life cycle . Long-life battery products can also meet multiple application scenarios such as V2G and echelon utilization, thereby improving the economy of electric vehicles.

  4. Battery self-heating & BMS technology

  Power batteries have very high requirements for the temperature environment. Low temperatures in winter will affect the battery's endurance. As battery technology continues to improve, the temperature range within which it maintains optimal working conditions is becoming wider and wider.

  The self-heating technology demonstrated by CATL identifies the battery status through the BMS battery management system and formulates a rapid heating control strategy, which can increase the battery temperature from -20°C to 10°C in 15 minutes, increasing the charging capacity by 5 times and the discharging capacity by 7 times. , thereby extending battery life.

  At the same time, CATL will establish a complete safety guarantee system covering product design, cell manufacturing, system integration, BMS management, after-sales service, scrap recycling, etc. to ensure the safety of power batteries in all aspects.
