A quantum battery has been developed abroad that will charge faster
According to foreign media reports, Dr. James Quach of the University of Adelaide in Australia will use the unique properties of quantum mechanics to create the world's first quantum battery. Dr. Quach said that quantum batteries are different from ordinary batteries in that they charge faster.
Quach said: If the charging time of one quantum battery is one hour, then the charging time of two batteries is only 0.5 hours, and the charging time of three batteries is shortened to 20 minutes. By analogy, if 10,000 quantum batteries are charged at the same time, it will take less than 1 second.
Although it sounds counterintuitive, if quantum entanglement technology can be used, the above theory may become a reality.
Quantum mechanics deals with interactions between matter at the atomic and molecular levels, and the special properties at this level do go against the conventional laws of physics.
The idea of quantum batteries was first seen in a research paper published in 2013, and Dr. Quach applied the theory to laboratory research. Quantum entanglement is extremely delicate and requires extremely harsh environmental requirements for low-temperature and separated systems. If conditions change, quantum entanglement cannot occur.
Dr. Quach said that quantum batteries may be used in small electronic devices, and his long-term research goal is to increase the capacity of the battery to provide support for renewable energy technologies. In the future, this type of battery may be able to provide power in any climate condition.
