With the breakthrough of fuel cell technology, bottlenecks in the development of new energy vehicles such as short battery life and difficulty in supply are expected to be overcome, and fuel cell vehicles are also expected to become a new growth pole for the entire industry.
A fuel cell is generally understood to be a device that converts the chemical energy of fuel into electrical energy. Its fuel is divided into hydrogen, methanol, ethanol, methane, etc. At present, the relatively mainstream internationally and domestically is hydrogen fuel cells, which use hydrogen as fuel to replace both petroleum and current lithium batteries, and use fuel cells to replace engines.
Chinese officials have always given greater support to fuel cell research and development. As early as 2015, officials made it clear at a high-level meeting that they would support the research and development of power batteries and fuel cell vehicles. In recent years, the research and development of fuel cell vehicles has also made a series of progress.
The first is a series of technical upgrades. According to reports, the fuel cell bus equipped with "Keli Yuanxin" will be delivered in late June and will be put into operation on the road in Shenzhen as a demonstration at the end of June. Corun said that the implementation of this application benefited from its research on the localization of key fuel cell materials and components that it has carried out since 2015, as well as the development of special auxiliary power supplies and systems for fuel cells.
Under this circumstance, fuel cell vehicles are expected to become a new growth pole for the future development of new energy vehicles.
Sinolink Securities predicts that the fuel cell industry chain is developing well, with breakthroughs in domestic stack technology and steady progress in infrastructure. In 2017, there were more than 1,000 fuel cell vehicles, and it is expected that there will be more than 10,000 vehicles in 2020. The entire industry chain will usher in break out.
