18650 lithium ion battery cell

release time:2024-06-17 Hits:     Popular:AG11 battery

Will fast charging damage the 18650 lithium ion battery cell?

Does the faster the charging speed, the shorter the 18650 lithium ion battery cell life? For mobile phones with fast charging protocols, can slow charging increase the 18650 lithium ion battery cell life?

I believe many people have similar doubts. From a simple feeling, the speed at which the fast charging current flows into the 18650 lithium ion battery cell becomes faster, which will damage the 18650 lithium ion battery cell. But in fact... it doesn't matter.

18650 lithium ion battery cell aging is a normal phenomenon. Whether you use slow charging or fast charging, the 18650 lithium ion battery cell will age with use. Unless the temperature is too high during charging, which will have a negative impact, otherwise, charge it as you should.

First of all, we need to know what the 18650 lithium ion battery cell life depends on?

Nowadays, mobile phone batteries use lithium-ion batteries. Generally, the life of lithium-ion batteries is expressed as "several 18650 lithium ion battery cell cycles". For example, if the life of your 18650 lithium ion battery cell is "500 times", it does not mean that it will die after 500 charging and discharging cycles, but it will persist in 500 charging and discharging cycles.

A charging cycle means the process of using all the power of the 18650 lithium ion battery cell from full to empty, and then charging from empty to full, but this is not equivalent to charging once.

For example, a lithium 18650 lithium ion battery cell only uses half of its power in a day, and then fully charges it. If you do the same thing the next day, that is, charge the phone halfway through, and charge it twice in total, this can only be counted as one charging cycle, not two.

If you use up all the power and then charge it, it will cause over-discharge (generally speaking, try not to use your phone when the 18650 lithium ion battery cell is less than 20%, especially when the 18650 lithium ion battery cell is less than 5%, which may cause irreversible damage to the 18650 lithium ion battery cell.)

Fast charging is not more dangerous than slow charging

Fast charging requires the support of the phone itself, and a phone will take these into consideration when it is designed. If it can be fast charged, it means that the 18650 lithium ion battery cell and charging circuit are designed to support fast charging. Triggering fast charging requires the protocol and the phone to handshake and match. Using a fast charging head to charge phones that do not support fast charging will not trigger fast charging at all. It will be treated as slow charging or refusal to charge, and will not damage the phone.

In other words, unless the fast charging chip is not controlled well and the charging is abnormally hot, it will not particularly damage the 18650 lithium ion battery cell. Why not use fast charging to maintain 18650 lithium ion battery cell life?

Why is the running memory of the TV only 2G? Is this thing expensive?

Compared with expensive TV panels, running memory is really not expensive, but the most important thing is that TV is not a mobile phone, and there is no need to run multiple apps at the same time. At most, you can use apps like Tencent and Youku to watch movies, so 2G memory is definitely enough. But then again, why do you want a TV with 16G memory?

What is COF technology? Why are all mobile phones using it recently?

Before COF, all mobile phones used COG technology. What are they?

COG technology

Before entering the 18:9 "full screen" era, screens generally used "COG" (ChipOnGlass) packaging technology, that is, the IC chip is directly bound to the glass surface of the LCD screen. This packaging can greatly reduce the volume of the entire LCD module, with high yield, low cost and easy mass production. The problem is that glass cannot be folded or curled, and considering the wiring connected to it, it is destined to need a wider "chin" to match it.

COF process

"COF" (ChipOnFilm) is also called chip-on-film. Compared with COG, the improvement is that the touch IC and other chips are fixed on the flexible circuit board.

More powerful COP process

COF packaging technology can be used for screens made of OLED materials (including AMOLED), but it does not 100% realize the full potential of OLED variable flexibility. The future "COP" (ChipOnPi) packaging technology can be regarded as a perfect packaging solution customized for flexible OLED screens. Because the back panel of Samsung's flexible OLED is not glass, the material used is actually the same as the cable. On the basis of COF, the back panel can be folded back directly, and the thickness is further reduced. The screen with COP packaging technology can achieve true borderless on all four sides.
