The shorter battery life of the laptop is due to the misjudgment of the battery level by the laptop BIOS system during multiple charging and discharging processes. In this case, we can use the "battery calibration" method to fully utilize the remaining battery power of the laptop. Here are two methods to calibrate laptop batteries.
Standard calibration method: using the battery calibration function in laptop BIOS
Many brands of laptops have integrated battery calibration programs in their BIOS, commonly known as "Battery Calibration" or "battery level calibration" in English. Directly entering the BIOS of this computer can complete the operation of battery calibration.
1. Turn on the computer and press F2 to enter the BIOS menu after the startup screen appears; By pressing the left and right arrow keys, select to enter the Power menu.
2. Enter the Power menu and you will see the "Start Battery Calibration" option. Select it and press the Enter key to execute.
3. At this point, the screen will turn blue and there will be an English prompt requesting that the laptop's power adapter be plugged in to charge the battery. After the battery is fully charged, the screen prompts the user to disconnect the power adapter. Afterwards, the laptop continues to discharge the battery until it runs out of charge.
4. This process takes some time. After the battery runs out and automatically shuts down, connect the power adapter to charge the battery, but do not turn it on. The process of battery calibration is not considered complete until the charging is completed (the charging indicator light is off).
Manual correction method: Let the laptop naturally discharge when turned on
Some laptops cannot find the option for battery calibration in the BIOS. Can't such laptops perform battery calibration? By manually setting some settings, let the laptop discharge during normal operation until it automatically shuts down.
