　　StoreDot, a lithium battery start-up headquartered in Herzliya, Israel, announced last Tuesday (June 12, local time) that it had successfully recharged an electric scooter in five minutes. This electric scooter comes from the Spanish company Torrot.

　　It is worth mentioning that the above-mentioned demonstration actions were jointly completed by StoreDot and BP, a major global crude oil company, which is a strategic supporter of StoreDot. The companies jointly announced that for the first time, charging time for an electric two-wheeler has been reduced to just a few minutes.

　　StoreDot CEO Don Meersdorf said in an interview with CNBC last Tuesday: "We used the Torrot electric scooter to demonstrate the technical strength we have."

　　He also pointed out that this is also the first time the company has demonstrated that it takes only five minutes to fully charge a battery pack containing a large number of battery cells, with the number of battery cells inside reaching 168.

　　StoreDot will instead add a mixture of tin, germanium, silicon and other organic compounds to the raw materials used in the next generation of batteries. 　　He also said that Don Meersdorf expects five-minute charging services for smartphones and power banks to be put into use in the second half of 2020, while fast charging technology for electric vehicles may not be available until 2023.
