The new vent has a flexible membrane to support lower opening pressures, and is designed with an overpressure bypass function that can reverse overpressure, ensuring that the battery's pressure differential can be quickly released under normal and severe operating conditions, otherwise lightweight The battery casing will deform and even cause sealing failure. This feature is therefore able to effectively manage overpressure conditions associated with thermal runaway of individual cells or battery modules. The reliability and durability of Gore's battery pack low-pressure vent technology promotes cell pressure balancing and provides critical protection from water, dirt and dust intrusion into the battery.
