  Lithium titanate (LTO) material is used as a negative electrode material in batteries. Due to its own characteristics, the material is prone to interaction with the electrolyte and gas precipitation occurs during the charge discharge cycle reaction. Therefore, ordinary lithium titanate batteries are prone to gas swelling, leading to cell bulging and a significant decrease in electrical performance, greatly reducing the theoretical cycle life of lithium titanate batteries. Test data shows that ordinary lithium titanate batteries will experience gas swelling after about 1500-2000 cycles, leading to abnormal use. This is also an important reason that restricts the large-scale application of lithium titanate batteries.

  The performance improvement of lithium titanate (LTO) batteries is a comprehensive reflection of the improvement of individual material performance and the organic integration of various key materials. In response to the requirements of fast charging and long service life, in addition to negative electrode materials, other key raw materials for lithium-ion batteries (including positive electrode materials, separators, and electrolytes) should also be targeted. At the same time, combined with special engineering process experience, a "non inflating" lithium titanate LpTO battery product was finally formed, and batch application on electric buses was first achieved.

  Test data shows that under the conditions of 6C charging, 6C discharge, and 100% DOD, the cycle life of lithium titanate LpTO single cell batteries exceeds 25000 times, with a remaining capacity of over 80%. At the same time, the gas expansion phenomenon generated by the battery cells is not obvious, which does not affect their lifespan; The actual application of fast charging pure electric buses in Chongqing also shows that after the batteries are grouped, the electrical performance is also quite excellent, which can ensure the daily commercial operation of pure electric buses.
