What factors affect the storage performance of CR2430 battery packs?
The structure of lithium-ion batteries consists of positive electrode, negative electrode, electrolyte, diaphragm and shell.
(1) The formation of irreversible capacity of the negative electrode is mainly due to the fact that as the storage time increases, some lithium embedded in the graphite layer of the negative electrode loses its activity and becomes dead lithium, which cannot return to the positive electrode through discharge. The formation of these dead lithium has a negative impact on the capacity change. Therefore, as the SOC increases, the capacity lost due to this reason will increase;
(2) According to Ohm's law: U=UR+Ur=I(R+r), where: U is the battery electromotive force; UR is the circuit terminal voltage; Ur is the battery internal consumption voltage; R is the external circuit resistance; r is the internal resistance of the battery itself; I is the discharge current. Due to the influence of the increase in internal resistance during storage; the increase in terminal voltage reduces, the terminal voltage reaches earlier during discharge, and the discharge time is shorter than the initial storage period, which reduces the discharge capacity. This effect is also negative;
(3) As the storage time of the positive electrode lithium iron phosphate battery pack increases, the secondary particles crack and form a fresh interface, which regains the activity of lithium ion insertion and extraction. This effect is positive, so the capacity increase may occur at the initial stage of storage.
By detecting the changes in battery performance such as AC internal resistance, capacity, DC internal resistance, and power capacity of 48V CR2430 battery packs after storage at different temperatures and different SOCs, it is found that the change rules of various battery performances during storage are different. In the actual storage of batteries, appropriate storage conditions should be selected according to the length of storage time and the use direction of the battery.
