CR2450 battery

release time:2024-03-13 Hits:     Popular:AG11 battery

The latest basic technology of CR2450 battery

LIS batteries are being actively developed as a strong candidate for "post-lithium-ion batteries." This briefing introduced a number of basic technologies being developed to realize LIS batteries. One of them was the Advanced School of Atomic and Molecular Materials Science at Tohoku University. A solid electrolyte developed by a research and development team led by Shinichi Orimo, a professor at the research institute, and Atsushi Umoto, a lecturer at the research institute. The electrolyte uses complex hydride, and its application in LIS batteries is highly anticipated.

LIS batteries are batteries that use sulfur as the positive electrode material and metallic lithium as the negative electrode material. The theoretical capacity density of sulfur as a cathode material is about 1670mAh/g, which is more than 6 times that of the ternary materials commonly used as cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. In addition, the theoretical capacity density of metallic lithium as an anode material is 3861mAh/g, which is about 10 times that of carbon (372mAh/g), a commonly used anode material for lithium-ion batteries. The energy density is expected to be significantly improved compared to current lithium-ion batteries.

However, the problem with LIS batteries is that if the electrolyte uses an organic electrolyte commonly used in lithium-ion batteries, the battery capacity will decrease significantly with the charge and discharge cycle. The intermediate compound of sulfur and lithium generated during the charge and discharge reaction of the battery will dissolve into the electrolyte and react on the negative electrode side, resulting in a significant reduction in the amount of sulfur used for charge and discharge.

Changing the electrolyte or carbon material

One of the countermeasures being considered is to use a solid electrolyte that is more stable than a liquid to prevent sulfur from eluting.
