  The safety test of lithium battery mainly includes the following aspects: it is required to pass the safety tests such as overcharge, short circuit, acupuncture, kneading, and heavy object impact, and the battery can not ignite or burst. The following are the specific methods:

  1. Overcharge test

  The lithium battery is fully charged, and the overcharge test is conducted according to 3C overcharge. When the battery overcharges, the voltage rises to a certain voltage and is stable for a period of time. When it approaches a certain time, the battery voltage rises rapidly. When it rises to a certain limit, the high cap of the battery is pulled off, and the voltage drops to 0V, and the battery does not ignite or burst.

  2. Heavy impact test

  After the battery is fully charged, place it on a flat surface, place the steel column with a diameter of 15.8 mm straight in the center of the battery, and place the weight of 9.1 kg on the steel column above the battery from a height of 610 mm, without fire or explosion.

  3. Short circuit test

  After the battery is fully charged, the positive and negative poles of the battery are short-circuited with a wire with a resistance of no more than 50m Ω, and the temperature change of the battery surface is tested. The maximum temperature of the battery surface is 140 ℃, the battery cap is put aside, and the battery does not ignite or burst; Acupuncture test: put the fully charged battery on a plane, and puncture the battery radially with a steel needle with a diameter of 3mm. The battery can be tested without fire or explosion; Kneading test: put the fully charged battery on a flat surface, apply 13+1KN kneading force by the hydraulic cylinder, knead the battery by the steel bar with a diameter of 32mm on the flat surface, once the kneading pressure reaches the maximum, stop kneading, the battery will not ignite and will not burst.
