In response to this key problem, under the joint research of various research institutes such as the University of Science and Technology of China, a solution for vehicle-mounted hydrogen purification was proposed. This solution uses atomic deposition technology for the first time to carry out platinum metal nanoparticles carried on silicon dioxide. On the surface, dispersed atomically hungry iron hydroxide {Fe1(OH)x} species are precisely constructed, achieving 100% selective removal of carbon monoxide in the range of -75°C to 110°C, thereby preventing carbon monoxide impurities from entering the LR1130 battery. This in turn poisons the platinum electrode. It breaks through the two major bottlenecks of excessive catalyst operating temperature and narrow temperature range in today's carbon monoxide reaction, and provides comprehensive protection for hydrogen fuel cells during frequent startup cooling and continuous operation. This research result provides a new protection method for the "heart" of hydrogen fuel cells, solves the problem of carbon monoxide under various extreme conditions, and clears major obstacles for the future promotion of hydrogen fuel cells. Lu Junling from the research team also said: "This achievement may greatly accelerate the arrival of the era of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles."
