　　In the structure of lithium batteries, the separator is one of the key inner components. The performance of the separator determines the interface structure, internal resistance, and other characteristics of the battery, directly affecting its capacity, cycling, and safety performance. An excellent separator plays an important role in improving the overall performance of the battery. The main function of the separator is to separate the positive and negative poles of the battery, prevent short circuits caused by contact between the two poles, and also have the function of allowing electrolyte ions to pass through. The material of the separator is non-conductive, and its physical and chemical properties have a significant impact on the performance of the battery. Different types of batteries use different separators. For the lithium battery series, as the electrolyte is an organic solvent system, it is necessary to have a membrane material that is resistant to organic solvents. Generally, high-strength filmed polyolefin porous membranes are used.

　　The separator of lithium-ion batteries has a large number of tortuous and interconnected micropores, which can ensure the free passage of electrolyte ions to form a charging and discharging circuit; When the battery is overcharged or the temperature rises, the separator separates the positive and negative poles of the battery through a closed hole function to prevent direct contact and short circuit, achieving the function of blocking current conduction and preventing the battery from overheating or even explosion.
