　　The service life of nickel metal hydride batteries will be longer. Because nickel metal hydride batteries have a certain memory effect, major automobile manufacturers will give them a battery management strategy of "shallow charging and shallow discharging" when using nickel metal hydride batteries. Usually, most vehicles equipped with nickel metal hydride batteries are oil electric hybrid vehicles, and the maximum battery power consumption will not exceed 40%.

With the support of such a battery management strategy, overcharge and overdischarge can be avoided to the greatest extent, thus prolonging its life. Theoretically, the charging and discharging cycle of the NiMH battery can reach tens of thousands of times.

　　Although the service life of the current mainstream lithium iron phosphate battery can also reach 3000 charge discharge cycles, it is still far from the nickel hydrogen battery. As for the ternary lithium battery, the theoretical life is 2000 charging and discharging cycles. However, it is found through research that when the charging and discharging cycles of the ternary lithium battery reach 900 times, the capacity of the battery will decline by about 50%. Therefore, the NiMH battery is better than the lithium battery in terms of life.
