The reason is still because of the physical limitations of nature. The difficulty in breaking through battery technology is that each new electrode will cause more safety problems, such as explosion, short circuit or instability of the battery itself. Many scientists have thought of many ways, but they can't break through this technical limitation anyway. Some scientists plan to add silicon electrodes in the laboratory to solve the safety problem, but unfortunately the result is also a failure. Therefore, graphene is indeed a development direction for batteries at present, but graphene is not mature in terms of mass production or technology, and the cost is very high. Graphene cannot increase the capacity of batteries.
The biggest feature of graphene is its conductivity. If it wants to be revolutionary and subvert the capacity of battery materials, it still needs a breakthrough in physics. Only by making more breakthroughs in basic disciplines can we develop better batteries through technology, which can truly change the battery storage capacity and trigger a revolution.
