Currently, foreign BMS systems mostly adopt active balancing function design, which can redistribute energy evenly, but active technology has high technical content and high cost. Relatively speaking, domestic products basically use passive balancing functions or BMS products without balancing functions, which convert excess electricity into heat energy and cause unsafe factors. Lack of technology R&D investment, domestic BMS systems are mostly designed and produced by battery manufacturers and third-party electronics factories. Compared with foreign car companies, the BMS system is dominated by car companies. The three parties of R&D and production cooperate together, invest a long time in R&D, and have good safety and stability. There is a lack of industry technical parameter standards, and BMS products are mixed. Industry insiders said that even though the single and small module batteries of many companies meet safety performance standards, after being grouped together, the test results vary greatly, making it difficult to guarantee quality such as safety, lifespan, and discharge capacity.
For our country, domestic power battery and related companies such as BYD, CATL, AVIC Lithium Battery, and Guoxuan High-tech are all involved in BMS, usually using the "BMS+PACK" model, mastering the entire core technology from battery cells to battery packs, and have relatively high Strong competitive strength, but few other related companies develop BMS systems. Mastering reliable and safe BMS technology requires long-term research and development and experience accumulation.
