Safety first, forward thinking
Recently, spontaneous combustion accidents of electric vehicles have occurred frequently at home and abroad, causing consumers who are currently paying attention to new energy vehicles to raise serious doubts about the safety of electric vehicle power batteries. Measures such as limiting charging to 90% and updating the battery management system (BMS) have not dispelled these doubts. And how to reduce the risk of spontaneous combustion of electric vehicle power batteries to a lower level? This is the core content of this theme lecture.
Qiantu Motor's forward-looking exploration of automotive power batteries began in 2010. Deeply explore the development path of battery technology, and finally establish a technical route based on standard boxes of soft-packed batteries. Zhai Sheng mentioned: "As a vehicle developer, the safety and consistency of batteries are our first core issues to consider." From the perspective of packaging, soft-pack batteries are packaged in aluminum-plastic film. When the uncontrolled energy inside it accumulates and reaches the explosive point, it will be slowly released through the soft shell instead of uncontrollably exploding. The heat energy generated by the millisecond-level electrochemical reaction is converted into a controllable battery outer packaging deformation of more than ten seconds, thereby achieving the uncontrolled energy release mentioned above. It also provides drivers and passengers with more ample reaction and escape time after the vehicle alarms, thereby giving the vehicle a higher safety advantage and making soft-pack batteries the cornerstone of Qiantu Motor's overall power battery technology.
Battery standard box provides double insurance for safety
After the safety foundation of the single battery was completed, Qiantu Motor adopted a design method that simultaneously focused on the safety of the overall battery module and pioneered the development of a standard battery box module structure. Inside the Qiantu standard battery box, the dynamic space of the battery cells is filled with foam. This material can absorb the size changes of the battery cells caused by the breathing effect of the battery cells, and plays an internal buffering role in the event of collisions, strong bumps, etc. . The battery box shell is made of high-strength composite materials, making its crash performance test score 30% higher than the national standard and meeting the IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating. It is worth mentioning that the sealed shell of the standard battery box can also efficiently cooperate with the battery thermal management system to ensure the consistency of the battery core temperature and ensure battery safety in all aspects.

RESS builds a multi-dimensional battery safety prevention and control system

Relying on high-security standard battery box packs, Qiantu Motor has developed an efficient thermal management system and a sophisticated and intelligent battery management system. The two together form a comprehensive safety performance solution for the vehicle's RESS rechargeable energy storage system. The RESS system uses an active liquid cooling/liquid heating thermal management system to ensure that each standard battery box can receive sufficient heat exchange, minimize the temperature difference between cells, effectively improve temperature consistency, and ensure the full temperature of the vehicle (- Driving safely within the range of 30℃~55℃). According to Mr. Zhai Sheng, other manufacturers’ water-cooled power batteries for vehicles in the industry are all water-cooled, making it difficult to ensure the battery’s all-round temperature consistency. Qiantu's unique water chamber design allows the side of each battery cell to have sufficient contact area with the coolant, thereby ensuring the temperature consistency of all battery cells, and fundamentally eliminating the risk of spontaneous combustion of the battery due to thermal runaway. down to a lower limit.
Independently designed and built a high-consistency battery system
In order to ensure the consistency of battery products, Qiantu Motor built its own factory and independently designed industry-leading production lines to develop the entire battery system.
