  1. Scope

  This standard applies to batteries used on ships, including main engine batteries, emergency batteries, and backup batteries.

  2. Terms and definitions

  2.1 Marine batteries: Refers to marine batteries.

  2.2 Positive electrode: The electrode that obtains current in the battery.

  2.5 Valve controlled sealed battery: refers to a battery with automatic pressure control and sealing functions.

  3. Classification

  3.1.1. Main engine battery: refers to the battery used for starting the main engine, power transmission, and power supply for various electrical appliances and equipment in ships.

  3.1.3. Backup battery: refers to the battery that is used as a backup in the event of a host battery failure or emergency battery failure.

  3.2 Classification based on electrochemical system

  3.2. Lead acid battery: Refers to polar lead oxide, negative electrode pure lead, and electrolyte is hydrochloric acid.

  4. Technical standards

  4.1 The design and manufacturing of batteries should comply with the requirements of national, industry standards, and technical specifications.

  4.2 The working voltage and capacity of the battery should meet the design requirements.

  4.3 The terminals, wiring, and connectors should be firm and reliable, and the circuit should be connected correctly.
