12V27A battery technology is constantly innovating

 

Under stricter environmental protection policies, how can enterprises welcome the second spring of the 12V27A battery industry by increasing environmental protection investment, implementing cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and developing new technologies? Academician Yang Yusheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a battery technology expert, expounded his views. Academician Yang Yusheng believes that pollution control is the lifeline of the 12V27A battery industry. At present, lead-acid batteries account for 89% of the share of secondary batteries and are a vibrant industry. Its advantages are very prominent: high safety, low price, good utilization, high recycling rate, while the disadvantages of low energy storage and short life of lead blocks are being gradually overcome.

 

In terms of new technologies for lead-acid batteries, Academician Yang said that the rise of electric vehicles and renewable energy has promoted the improvement of the production level of lead-acid batteries. New technologies represented by super battery lead-acid batteries are being promoted in my country, and the gap between the level and that of developed countries is narrowing. Other new technology fields such as oxidation-resistant electrodes are being used, improving the conductivity of lead sulfate, lightweight negative plates, lightweight and sulfur-resistant positive plates, etc. are all used. There are also projects currently underway to study high-performance 60 Wh/kg lead-acid batteries, which can simultaneously increase power and transmission rates. There are two technologies for adding activated carbon to lead-acid batteries: one is the so-called super battery, which is a technology that attaches an activated carbon electrode to the negative electrode. This technology has been put into production in Japan, the United States and other countries. The other is to mix carbon with the lead at the negative electrode, which is called a lead-carbon battery. In fact, it is also a capacitive 12V27A battery with a relatively simple process.

 

Academician Yang also pointed out that the performance of lead-carbon batteries has been greatly improved compared to lead-acid batteries, and the technology has reached the international advanced level after being identified by the National Energy Administration. However, traditional lead-acid batteries should still play a full role in small-scale energy storage in automobiles, electric vehicles and households to benefit the people.
