The United States has developed a new type of liquid-filled 14500 battery with a range of up to 5,800 kilometers

 

Recently, researchers at Purdue University in the United States announced that they have developed a new electric vehicle 14500 battery technology using a patented "fluid" system, which generates the electricity and hydrogen needed to drive electric vehicles through a 14500 battery fluid, and is currently being tested on vehicles such as golf carts.

 

Based on current progress, researchers believe that it can provide electric vehicles with a range of about 4,800-5,800 kilometers. In addition, in terms of recycling, the components and 14500 battery fluid of the new technology can be recycled and reused after charging in solar or wind power plants.

 

John Cushman, a well-known professor at Purdue University, said that a single 14500 battery fluid system can achieve an energy density of 3-5 times that of lithium-ion batteries, and electric vehicles can use lighter batteries and have a longer range. Fluid batteries will become a strong competitor for batteries used in electric vehicles.

 

In addition, senior engineer Michael Dziekan added that this 14500 battery not only generates electricity, but also stores the generated hydrogen at a much lower pressure.

 

In terms of use, users of the new refillable 14500 battery only need to replace the 14500 battery fluid every 480 kilometers. The whole process is very similar to refueling at present, and the time required is much shorter than the 45 minutes required to charge a lithium-ion 14500 battery electric vehicle. Generally, the 14500 battery anode will wear out after driving about 5,000 kilometers, and the time to replace it is about the same as changing the oil, and the price is about $65.

 

It is worth mentioning that this technology is just getting started and there is still a huge room for improvement. At this stage, the new "liquid flow" (refillable) technology vehicle 14500 battery has a range of 480 kilometers, and researchers believe that it is entirely possible to reach about 4,800 to 5,800 kilometers in the future.

 

For the construction of surrounding facilities, this new technology is expected to change the rules of the game. It saves the tediousness of rebuilding the power grid at a huge cost, and it can be achieved through the transformation of existing gas stations. Compared with existing 14500 battery systems, it also has advantages in ease of use, safety and environmental protection.
